For the perfect fit…
Wedding Dress Alterations | Bridesmaid | Suits | Outfits & more
There are various garments specifically purchased for Weddings that are likely to require some form of Alteration(s)
A wedding dress is obviously the likeliest, as from the time a Bride chooses a dress, many months can pass and most Bridal Shops and specialists will encourage a series of fittings, leading up to the final try-on, before the dress is collected or sent for ‘The Big Day’.
Even accessories such as a veil might require some alteration, but the most common are hems being shortened or extended. Alterations can also form a part of tailoring, so again it’s not just dresses but suits, shirts, waistcoats and more that may need either major or minor snips, tucks, zips, pins or panels.
Anyone who offers seamstress and alterations facilities is usually quite specialist and often work alongside or from a corresponding shop or boutique. If perhaps it’s a Bridal Dress Shop, sometimes they may offer free alterations as part of the purchase, although most will be a separate charge depending upon the work involved.
Others can be sourced independently and may specialise in one particular type of alteration such as wedding and bridesmaid dresses only. Again, tailoring is usually part of specialist suit makers and manufacturers, who are well practiced in the art of making necessary alterations to ensure that a garment fits comfortably and as it should.
Whatever type of Alteration you may require for your wedding dress, bridesmaids, Mother of The Bride, Mother of the Groom, outfit or suit, see our Alterations Category on TWP
